Today was the last day of our eclipse trip. As usual, we got up at sunrise and went to Cannon Beach looking for sea stars and to photograph Haystack Rock. We had no luck locating a red sea star but the Haystack Rock was well illuminated by the early morning sun. After the shoot, we had breakfast at the Wayfarer Lounge next to the rock and drove back to Bellevue to drop Larry off and got home by pm. Totally amazing! You captured better than I have seen from anyone or any media source. Thank u for sharing!

Even when we may be aware of an issue that may or may not happen, some of us will fret about it and some of us will deal with it if and when it happens. Are you someone who crosses the bridge when it comes to it, or do worry and cross that bridge before you come to it? My father designed bridges. Sometimes they were little ones like this one; sometimes they crossed the mouths of wide rivers like the Haast River in New Zealand m. Always they were like this though—made with steel trusses with this zig-zag pattern. They were designed to the Callender-Hamilton system and, like the one in this photo, were built on land and launched across rivers.
The woman in the photo is my mother, watching the launch. My brother and I were there somewhere too, though I remember this trip to the country primarily for the hare stew we ate from a campsite billy. Who else loves covered bridges? That sound?
Beetle juice anyone?? Side by side. Throwing rocks into the creek. Childhood chatter. Clear blue sky as far as the eye can see. Fresh, crisp air and warm sunshine. To savor all the blessings. Is life perfect right now?
